Why lease a horse? Several reasons! To list a few: leasing is less expensive than owning your own horse. It is a great way to gain experience and gauge interest in whether or not you or your child is willing to commit to owning and caring for a horse. If the experience turns out to not be your "cup of tea," you will find ending a lease much easier than having to sell a horse you can no longer own.  If you would like further information about any of the animals listed below, we would be happy to assist!

"Scarlett"
Scarlett is a flaxen chestnut, 18-year-old Peruvian Paso draft cross standing at 14 hh. She is suitable for riders of all ages and levels. Currently being used as a lesson and Gymkhana horse for beginner & intermediate riders. Scarlett is an amazing trail riding horse and is unfazed by any obstacle that may be in her way. If you are looking for a bomb-proof and confident horse who is ready to go at your pace, fast or slow, Scarlett would be an amazing option. Available for half-lease at $450.

"Silver Shadows Sweet Delight"  aka "Sparkles"
Sparkles is a 2002-registered AMHR mare standing 30 inches tall. Her "chocolate palomino look" dazzles audiences both inside and outside the show ring. She is experienced as a 4H project and also competed in county fairs, parades, regional schooling shows, and competitive Nor-Cal miniature horse shows. Sparkles' resume includes halter, showmanship, single pleasure driving, team driving, and obstacle driving. Available for full lease at $175 

​"Suzie"
Suzie is a 2004 grade bay roan standing at 29 inches tall. She has an impressive show history in 4H, local and regional shows, and has won numerous buckles! As a lease, we recommend her for people (children and adults) new to the horse world. Her sweet nature combined with her intelligence will for sure boost the first-time horse handler's confidence. This tiny little horse really knows her stuff, and she will take you to the top! Her talents are numerous, but include pleasure driving, JUMPING, trail, team driving, showmanship, halter & obstacle driving. Available for full lease at $200

"Leo"
Leo is a 2022, grade, black appaloosa gelding, standing at 30 inches tall. Leo is an energetic, lovable mini who will always be the first to meet you at the gate. He is currently being trained to pull a cart and has been shown at the Sac County Fair and local and regional mini horse shows. He has placed in showmanship, driving, jumping, and a costume contest! Leo has made visits to schools, parades, and festivals. He would be great paired with youth or adults, as he handles himself perfectly in every situation. Available for full lease at $175

"Sweet Solar Idol Sun" aka "Sunny"
Sunny is a 2021 sorrel pinto mare standing at 31 inches tall. Sunny was sired and foaled by Redwood Acre Ranch-owned minis, "Silver Shadows Sweet Delight" and "LM Hawks Solar Idol". Sunny has been used by the Nevada City Police Department as a public relations pony, attending numerous festivals and events alongside the police. She has also been to schools and many parades! Sunny would do amazing paired with a youth handler.

Nigerian Dwarf Goats
Our Nigerian Dwarf goats are all ADGA registered and are available to be leased by youth in 4H, FFA, Grange, or Independent interested in showing dairy goats at county fairs. We have multiple goats ranging from three years old to kids. Our goats are only available to be leased during the 4H season, August-July. Goat leases start at $10 a month.
